“Moscow of Old times” park contest will start in late April.
Mayor Yuri Luzhkov endorsed the idea of laying out a park “Moscow of Old times” in “Sokolniki” park. “Moscow of Old times” project is expected to become a large-scale construction where more than 200 showpieces will be exhibited, the mayor explains.
“Moscow of Old times” will be similar to “Mini-Europe” park in Brussels where models of the most famous European attractions on 1:25 scale are located, Mr. Nikolai Evtikheev, prefect of the Eastern administrative district, reports.
“Moscow of Old Times” park will include models of the main attractions of the city. It will be the first open-air museum of its kind in Moscow. This is an image project of the Eastern district and the city as a whole. The park will be a part of blooming tourism industry. Moreover, the park will perform educational function as well: object lessons of Moscow region’s history can be held there.
The park is planned to be located near the Oleny ponds. While the park is constructed, necessary infrastructure will be created as well: spacey parking areas, souvenir shops and catering facilities. “Moscow of Old times” project contest will start in late April.
